One Of Our Inspiring Young Adults: Meet Carsten:

When we first met Carsten, he was a sophomore in college, feeling lost and uncertain, and beginning to ask some really important questions. He was a business major following a path that was already laid out in front of him. Everyone in his class was planning for careers in business, finance, and marketing, making a good living, and having a good life. But something about all of that never felt quite right to Carsten. There was something inside of him saying that this wasn't the way for him, and there was something else out there for him waiting to be discovered. Not just something good...but something life-changing and amazing!

Carsten's parents came to us wanting to provide an environment for him to do some self-discovery, to connect with the parts of himself that would not only help him see his unique passions, talents, and potential, but would also help him gain clarity on how it could be used to create a future that was meant solely for him.

Very early in the coaching process Carsten identified one of his true passions that had been there for quite some time. Carsten had a passion and talent for storytelling and video production. This was the "thing" that he loved and enjoyed more than anything. It was a hobby and interest he did for the joy and fun of doing it. It was something that he always thought about in the back of his mind, had played around with a bit, but had never went deeper with it to see what it meant, or what he could do with it  -  until now. Because he was in Business School he didn't even think about the possibility of creative endeavors. Through coaching we helped Carsten expand his curiosity, cultivate a growth mindset, connect with his authentic self, and explore some paths that were meaningful and exciting to him! 

The more he connected with his signature ingredients (his values, passions, strengths, and talents) he began to create an empowering vision of what his future could look like. With each step that he took, the better he felt, and the more his confidence grew, the more he could start to see his future opening up to him. He began to see clearly who he really was, what he loved doing, and all the different possibilities of how he could forge his own unique path in life.   

During the coaching program, Carsten learned how to create meaningful goals that would help him explore these different paths and allow his skills, talents, and creativity come to life. He learned how to overcome some of his unhelpful thoughts, resistance, and negative self-talk, and instead lean into the present and get proactive about his future. To never again hold himself back - but to intentionally go all in on doing the things that he was most passionate about. He also learned the rituals, habits, and mindset that he needed throughout his days to help him overcome distraction and cultivate the energy, focus, and mindfulness he needed to accomplish his goals. 

The more Carsten leaned into who he really was, the more things started to fall into place. Once he was in alignment with his Purpose and Goals, taking action every day, and grounded by rituals to support him every step of the way, there was no looking back. Not only was his confidence expanding with each step, but he was inspiring all of those around him with is passion, talents, and authenticity. People began to take notice of Carsten, and opportunities began to open up just by him being resourceful, focused and intentional about expressing his creativity and passion. He was well underway towards developing what we call his Personal Brand (his authentic voice & message, and through that attracting his audience). 

Within months, Carsten locked into his Purpose, began moving towards an exciting future, and living out his passions and dreams every single day. He is currently working on several film projects and internships with other established and talented filmmakers.

Erin and I couldn't be more proud of him, and know that he is well on his way of becoming one of the greats in the world of filmmaking!
