Helping Young Adults Overcome Resistance to Become Empowered

That just by taking one step you could change how you feel, what you believe, and open your eyes to amazing new opportunities - that you are one-of-a-kind and capable of doing the most incredible things. Just that one step can change the trajectory of your life. Would you take it?
The truth that all teens and young adults need to know is that no matter what challenges and resistance you are currently facing, no matter how stuck or lost you feel, no matter how depressed or anxious you are, no matter how overwhelming things seem, you have the power to make new decisions, to start creating the life you want, seeing your path forward, and moving towards your potential, your confidence, and your future.
The most important thing for you to see right now is what's holding you back and preventing you from doing the things you want to do, and feeling the way you need to feel to go out into the world and accomplish incredible things! This awareness can be powerful because it helps to put you into the position to break free from distractions and negative self-talk and make different choices. There are so many things that show up in any given moment of your life that either help you move towards your goals and happiness, or keep you feeling small, stuck, and moving away from what's really important to you. This includes things like your thoughts, feelings, emotions, self-talk, as well as other distractions like our phones, friends, etc. Now these things are never going to fully go away, and in fact I will tell you that you need your resistance in order to help you learn, grow, and persevere in life. You can learn to get control back over your life when you notice these distractions becoming an issue, and the best way to do that is to become more present and mindful, which happens as soon as you learn to notice these unhelpful things that are showing-up in your life, disconnecting from them, and just observing them non-judgmentally, so that they can no longer hurt you, but rather serve as a guide to help you move in the right direction.
Now let's take a moment to notice your resistance. You now know that your resistance is anything that shows up throughout your day that holds you back, drains your energy, makes you feel down on yourself, or pulls you away from what's really important to you. So we are simply going to practice noticing our resistance, noticing these unhelpful things that are holding us back. When we notice them we bring ourselves out of our thoughts and distractions and back into the present moment, where we can see things more clearly. When we do this, that resistance no longer has as much control over us, we can be more objective and empowered, then you are in a position to make a different choice!
This is how powerful you really are my friend! Start practicing today and before you know it this will organically become a natural part of how you show up for yourself everyday!
